![]() I also love the fact I can just upgrade the storage size at any time, as well as downgrade it if it's too big. Stability has been stellar, as well as the "bang-for-the-buck" (considering all the pros and cons, as well as the alternatives). Ive tried installing rclone directly on the debian install but this doesnt really work out as 1)I cant see all the OMV folders and 2)most importantly in my case, it cant work in the background as it relies on a SSH session. ![]() I cant find a way to do it, or at least do it properly. So yes, that is a real downside, especially if one is moving huge files (for a bunch of small ones, SSH works great and any failed transfer is easily "re-done"). As title, Id like to install RClone on OMV, which in my case is installed over Debian on a RPi4. So, the speed is still not what I'd call fast, but it's far from slow. Another popular backup system (that can easily be installed in a jail) is Duplicati, but it also doesn't support iDrive. Here it is - found it (why I love forums ): FreeNAS uses rclone for its cloud storage, and rclone doesn't support iDrive (I see some discussion on the rclone forum requesting this feature, but it isn't there now). I wrote in some topic here about my speed experience. I use the storage box for my Hetzner server backup so internal speed is good. ![]() Hetzner Storage is good for off-site backup but I heard that sometimes speed is too slow for US or Asian. I recently decided to set-up an encrypted Rclone remote on my Workspace account for use with Plex on Windows 10, and came across a guide written in 2019 by u/pierce3215.The guide was very helpful, but it did not provide instruction for setting up an encrypted remote, and some of the steps were outdated. Use rclone to move data to IDrive ® e2 object storage. It's for off-site backups from the US, so I'm not terribly worried about speeds. Once you get the server access details from IDrive e2, follow the below rclone document for cloud migration. Have you had a good experience with the storage box line? I'm thinking about getting their 5TB plan. For file storage - Hetzner Storage Box is pretty nice ![]()
